My Apprentice

Meet my Beautiful daughter Chloe... She is just 12 years old and she loves to help out with my photo sessions when ever she gets the opportunity.

Chloe and her 10 year old sister Alyssa both love to help me make the little ones smile, and they are both really good at it.  Both my daughters also love to take pictures with my digital SLR's.  They have a really artistic eye and I am starting to teach them how to use the camera manually.
Last month I shot a wedding and I decided to bring Chloe with me to the church.  I was going to be shooting down stairs and I also wanted the view from the balcony.  So I gave Chloe one of my SLR's and a brief lesson and prayed she'd get at least a few good shots.  In many churches you are not aloud to use the flash, so the camera has to be set at a real slow shutter speed.  That requires a tripod or a really steady hand.
To my delight, Chloe didn't skip a beat.  She captured every single important part of the ceremony, including the mothers lighting the unity candle and all the speakers.  She even captured the musicians!  Her pictures were framed well and in focus.  She even moved around and got many different angles! Her lighting was pretty darn good too!  I knew she could do it, but I am impressed!  Way To GO Chloe!!
I told her now she can say she shot her first wedding at 12... that's pretty awesome!   She enjoys photography as a "hobby" but wants to go on to college to become a Chiropractor.   For now... she is one of my little assistants, my apprentice.

  1. I am impressed for many logical reasons.
First of all the composition, timing, and sharp focus of the subjects is perfect. One great option of the images Chloe made is besides telling a story in full size, if cropped in close another intimate up front and personal story is seen. I look forward to the future as Chloe develops her artistic skills. Chloe has a good start and a wonderful teacher.
    Great job Chloe!
    Love Grandpa Chris
